Bing, Microsoft’s new Search Engine, officially launches today. Already, Bing is getting a lot of attention. Following are a few reasons why:

Web Search
1. Bing, breaks down the search results into logical categories. For e.g. when I searched for ‘iPhone’, it broke the results into - Accessories, Software, Ringtones, etc.
2. Related search helps to further refine the search results
3. Instant access to search history
4. When clicked on the orange button next to a search listing, Bing gives a summary of what the page is about. This way you can decide if this is something you are looking for before visiting the page

Images
5. Hover on an image and Bing displays additional information
6. Refine image search by selecting additional options (e.g. black & white images)

Videos
7. When hovered over, videos start playing automatically (very cool)
8. Refine video search by selecting additional options (e.g. length, screen size, resolution, etc.). Again, very cool
Thoughts?

Planning to get rid of some old furniture? Looking for a new job? Want to find someone to mow your lawn?
Try posting a classified ad online. Craigslist.com and Kijiji.com provide an easy to use platform. Best of all, both sites are free and take good care when it comes to protecting your privacy.
Craigslist.com - has a directory like interface. It does not have a lot of fancy bells and whistles but has all the tools required to search or post ads.

Kijiji.com - is another option. The site has an interface similar to Ebay.com when it comes to displaying listings. Kijiji is also a great site to manage classified ads.

Both these sites are free and very useful. Enjoy.

Live.com is now Bing.com. Bing is Microsoft’s latest attempt in the Search Engine space. With Bing, big guns at Microsoft are trying to re-brand their search engine tool.

They are calling this a decisions engine. A tool that helps you make decisions - where to eat, how to fly, what’s the best deal on your new digi-cam, etc. Search results are broken down into logical categories and includes related searches and search history. Overall the tool looks clean, simple and fast.
It will interesting to see how the new search engine competes when it comes to Google.
