KiiRaalysis - A true measure of popularity (we are still working on it)

kiiraalysis

As we were designing KiiRaa, I always had these questions:

  • How to account for a website that has a lot of buzz for a year and then it’s gone?
  • How to distinguish between websites that are just ‘a hype’ vs. websites that are really useful?
  • How to give our Fans websites that are actually ‘Popular’ and are ‘Classics’?

We couldn’t answer these forever. Finally, our team came up with this brilliant idea - an algorithm (of course, the geeks on our team did it :)). We named this idea ‘KiiRaalysis’. In summary, the algorithm behind KiiRaalysis considers a number of dimensions and gives you a list of websites that can safely be considered ‘Tried and Tested’ or ‘Classics’

Remember:

  • Not every site make it to KiiRaalysis
  • A number of dimensions are considered before a website gets the premium spot on KiiRaalysis (including the hype factor)
  • A site may drop from KiiRaalysis. Yep, it’s the complicated algorithm
  • You may see the KiiRaalysis tab empty for some categories if there are no qualifying sites. Frankly, I don’t see this happening but it is possible
  • Consider ‘KiiRaalysis’ as a VIP list for websites

Enjoy
